Headteacher's Letter 02.05.2025

Dear families,

The lighter mornings and good weather have heralded the start of the summer term and I would like to extend a warm welcome back to everyone. This is a busy period for us all in school with intense preparation for the forthcoming examinations for students in Years 11 and 13 as well as groups lower down the school.

 Examinations

The hard work and commitment from teachers and students is never more evident than in the summer term as we head into the Year 11 and 13 exam season. Mocks last term provided a hugely valuable opportunity for our Year 11 students to reflect on their progress so far and prepare themselves for these last few vital weeks of preparation before the final exams. Attendance is key, and we expect students to be in school every day where teaching staff are on hand to support them every step of the way. We wish all Year 11 and 13 students the very best of luck during these life-changing final weeks of school.

 Rewards

Congratulations to Yusuf Islam in Year 7 who is top of the rewards points chart for the whole school with a massive 2431 points. In second and third positions we have Shakib Abdus (Year 9) followed by Zara Uddin (Year 7) who are both showing great commitment to their studies and the All Saints Way. Top in Year 8 we have Ayan Rahman, in Year 10 Shko Jwamer and in Year 11 Yusuf Muhammad Islam. You are all a credit to the school. Keep up the good work and keep up your excellent levels of attendance!

 Uniform

We expect our students to uphold high standards in the wearing of uniform. There is no room for personal interpretation as the list of acceptable items is clear, however I would like to highlight the following points:

  • students attend school in their PE kit only if they have a PE lesson that day. The kit is the royal blue tracksuit with the blazer worn on top. Shorts are not to be worn during the day. Students can use the changing rooms at the start of their PE lesson if they need to wear any different items.
  • no other jacket or top can be worn as an alternative to the school blazer. Hoodies are not acceptable and should not be worn in school.

Students who come to school dressed incorrectly may, if there is no adequate reason, be sent home to change or parents contacted to bring in the correct items. Sixth form students must also comply to the uniform policy. A reminder of the full uniform list for all years can be found on the school website HERE

 Water Bottles

As the weather has become warmer can I please remind families that students are advised to bring in this or their own water bottle that can be filled up at the various water fountains around the school.

Mobile phones

I school we support a focused, respectful, and distraction-free learning environment for all students. Mobile phones and wireless earphones can disrupt lessons, affect concentration, and contribute to other issues. By keeping these devices out of sight and use, we aim to foster better engagement in learning and promote positive, face-to-face interactions among students.

I would like to remind all families that mobile phones are strictly prohibited for students during school hours. Any student found using a mobile phone will have it confiscated and securely stored; it can only be collected by a parent or legal guardian, with collections taking place on Fridays after school.

Argoed Llwyd Centre

Last week a group of students travelled to the to the Argoed Lwyd Outdoor Education Centre in the Brecon Beacons / Bannau Brycheiniog, Wales where they all took part in mountain walking, canoeing and tunnel Exploring. During their time at Stepney All Saints all students get the opportunity to travel to this outdoor centre free of charge thanks to the support provided by The Portal Trust supports us. Further trips will be taking place this summer including visits to Spain and France.
